Daniel Craig will star opposite David Oyelowo in a forthcoming production of Othello.
The British star, who is about to hit screens in Spectre, will play Iago in the off-Broadway version of Shakespeare’s tragedy.
Selma actor Oyelowo will take on the title role in what is expected to be a limited run produced by the New York Theatre Workshop.
The play is set to be directed by Fun Home’s Sam Gold, who picked up a Tony Award for the musical this year.

Craig has performed twice on Broadway, starring in A Steady Rain opposite Hugh Jackman in 2009 and opposite wife Rachel Weisz in Betrayal in 2013.
The 47-year-old is currently on the promo trail for the new James Bond film, which he has hinted will be his last.

When asked during an interview with Esquire whether or not he’d be reprising the iconic role again, he said:
“I don’t know. I really don’t know. Honestly. I’m not trying to be coy. At the moment I can’t even conceive it.
“At this moment, no. I have a life and I’ve got to get on with it a bit. But we’ll see.”
Dates are yet to be announced for the NYTW’s production of Othello.
