West Ham fans remarked that ‘football doesn’t make sense’ after flop Simone Zaza scored a wonder goal against Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
Now playing for Valencia, the Italian striker scored inside four minutes as his side inflicted a major blow to Real Madrid’s La Liga title hopes by securing a 2-1 victory at the Mestalla Stadium.
West Ham cut short Zaza’s season long loan from Juventus in January – in which the Hammers had the option to make the deal permanent – having failed to score in 11 appearances for the club.
In fact, his only goal at the London Stadium was for Juventus in a pre-season friendly last summer.

Reacting to the goal, a West Ham fan tweeted: “Simone Zaza couldn't score in 90 mins against Accrington Stanley but scored 4 mins into a game vs Real Madrid. Football doesn't make sense”
