Premier League clubs dominate tally of the world's top earning football clubs
All 20 Premier League clubs have made it into a list of the top 40 highest earning clubs worldwide, new research has shown.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool all make the top 10 of accountancy firm Deloitte's Football Money League, while Tottenham, Newcastle and Everton feature in the top 20.
English football's dominance of the table, which is based on revenue, is credited to lucrative broadcast rights deals, which are larger than those for European peers and distributed with relative equality between all clubs in the top flight.
Sky and BT paid more than £3 billion for the current UK television rights set in 2012.
The bidding process has already started for the 2016-2019 cycle and could drawn an even larger price tag.
Moving some matches to Friday nights has been mooted as part of the new television deal.
Spanish giant Real Madrid topped Deloitte's ranking for the tenth consecutive year, with Manchester United rising two places to reach second place.
The clubs were the only two to earn over €500 million, but Deloitte says it is possible that in next year all of the top five Money League clubs will be generating in excess of half a billion euros.
Combined revenue for the top 20 clubs reached €6.2 billion for 2013-2014 season, an increase of 14% on the previous year, Deloitte said.
