Farfetch unveils 90 minute 'store to door' delivery tie-up with Gucci

Luxury online retailer Farfetch on Wednesday revealed a new 90-minute delivery tie-up with Gucci.

Under the plans, Londoners can now get goods from Kering-owned Gucci delivered to their doors within an hour and a half of ordering.

Farfetch couriers will also offer the 'store to door in 90 minutes' service in nine other cities, including Milan, Paris, Los Angeles and New York.

It marks the first time that fashion powerhouse Gucci has entered such a tie up. It is also a major coup for Farfetch which two months ago named Net A Porter founder Natalie Massenet as its co-chairman. Farfetch is believed to be eyeing an IPO in New York.

Gucci boss Marco Bizzarri said: "This represents the type of new service level that the luxury fashion industry needs to embrace to meet the ever-increasing expectation among luxury customers today."

“If you need just the right dress or pair of shoes for dinner that night, we can make sure you have it wherever you are,” added Farfetch’s chief José Neves.

The designer fashion sector has been slower to grow in the online market, but Farfetch joins a rising number of companies looking to offer bigger name brands and faster delivery options.

Farfetch currently offers same day deliveries in a number of cities, but the latest service will be its fastest to date.
