Hewlett-Packard hires headhunters to find new boss

Scandal: Jodie Fisher and deposed HP boss Mark Hurd
11 April 2012

Hewlett-Packard has hired executive headhunter firm Spencer Stuart to find it a new chief executive to replace Mark Hurd.

The job is coveted because of HP's role as the world's largest technology company. It is also troubled: Hurd and his predecessor, Carly Fiorina, were both forced out in disputes with the board of directors.

HP named director John Hammergren as chair of the search committee, which also includes board members Marc Andreesen, Laurence Babbio Jr, and Joel Hyatt.

Hurd resigned on August 6 over falsified expense reports to hide his relationship with former soft porn actress Jodie Fisher.
