But no Uber wannabes allowed

If you think you are sitting on the next mutli-million pound business idea, but shudder at the thought of the Dragons' Den or Lord Sugar's boardroom, Uber may have the perfect pitch process for you.

On June 3 the taxi-hailing service is offering customers the opportunity to speak with leaders in the tech industry, including investors from EQT, which has backed retailer Tiger, accelerator Seedcamp and Hailo investor Atomico, during a 20 minute cab ride.

Between 11am and 3pm users can order an 'UberPITCH' through the app. An investor will be waiting in the car ready to hear a 10-minute pitch and spend a further 10 minutes delivering feedback on the proposal.

Should your startup idea prove to be among the strongest in Europe, you could find yourself on another journey - this time to Berlin to meet Uber chief executive Travis Kalanick.

"By making use of our technology we can bring people closer together and connect great ideas with the right audience," Uber says.

To be considered, you must submit two to three sentences summing up your business plan.

The only specification is that you don't have designs on Uber's patch. Conditions of entry specify that ideas cannot related to "on-demand transportation, mobility or logistics services".
