Wiseman boosted by rival’s collapse

Milk giant Robert Wiseman today said it should beat expectations on half-year profit after receiving a boost from the collapse of rival Dairy Farmers of Britain in June.

That handed Robert Wiseman a new contract to supply Co-op supermarket branches with its milk, adding to its growing share of fresh milk supplies at Tesco and Sainsbury's.

The firm said milk sales are up more than 10% on last year.
