Suffering of the innocents: emergency services help youngsters caught up in the blast
23 May 2017

Knowingly to target a concert where there would be defenceless and innocent young people and children shows exactly the kind of attackers we are up against.

No religion would condone such an act of barbarism and terrorism. In this emergency, it was heartening that everyone stuck together and ensured people could get to safety. For that, we must thank our emergency services.

Like London after the Westminster attack in March, Manchester will recover.

I woke up to the news of this horrific attack this morning and saw that yet again, a concert venue had been the target of a terrorist attack.

People will remember the events in Paris in 2015 at the Bataclan Theatre and I wonder how people can enter these venues without being properly searched.

Bags are checked but is that enough when there are thousands inside a compact venue? I hope we can prevent these tragedies from happening again.
