The Princess of Wales has released a statement after the controversy over an official image of her and her children that was released on Mother's Day.

The image was withdrawn by international picture agencies because of concerns that it had been manipulated.

The statement from the princess said: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

"I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.”

Concerns over the image were raised after signs of editing to the left sleeve of Princess Charlotte’s cardigan were noticed, as well as other areas of the picture.

The confusion has further fueled conspiracy theories about Kate, which have swirled online since her surgery.

The Oscars 2024 have taken place and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was the big winner of the night - scooping seven awards including best picture, best actor for Cillian Murphy, and best film editing.

In terms of the big technology awards, War Is Over! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko won best animated short, while Japanese films The Boy and the Heron won best animated feature, and Godzilla Minus One won best visual effects.
