Still trying to cope with Harry Potter withdrawal since the Deathly Hallows was released in 2005?

Luckily, you won’t have to wait until the Harry Potter sequel play The Cursed Child is released in the summer, or for Eddie Redmayne to star in the Potter spin off film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in November.

Today, author J.K. Rowling has announced that she will be releasing four new pieces of writing at 2pm everyday this week - starting tomorrow March 8.

The writer has penned a collection of new original writing entitled Magic in North America, to introduce audiences to a new place and time in the new wizarding world she has created.

“Magic in North America will bring to light the history of this previously unexplored corner of the wizarding world in the run up to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, explains a post on Rowling’s site Pottermore, “and you’ll want to get up to speed before the film comes around in November.”

Rowling, who first conceived the wizarding world in her enormously popular book series, has previously introduced wizards and witches from other parts of Europe in the series, most notably in the Quidditch World Cup and Triwizard Tournament.

However, this marks the first time we’ll learn the fascinating story of the history of magic in North America.

The brand new stories were released today with a teaser trailer.

‘History has many secrets. The official story is never the whole story. Look beyond the surface and you will find another world running parallel to our own a secret world where magic is real,’ the official video explains.

The secrets of the American equivalent of Hogwarts, Ilvermorny, and the US version of the Ministry of Magic, The Magical Congress of the United States of America, are just two of the previously unknown wizarding insitutions thought to be revealed in the new four part series.
