Drop in solo with Warzone

Ready for some weekend warfare? Starting today, Warzone players can jump into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer for free.

If you've been enjoying the battle royale mode but haven't played the base game multiplayer, now's the perfect chance to see what you've missed out on.

From 6pm BST today until Monday, June 15, certain multiplayer maps will be available to play entirely free. You'll just have to download quite a lot before you can play.

Anyone who has downloaded the free-to-play battle royale mode Warzone can go to the lobby and join the multiplayer action just like that.

This is the biggest mix of maps featured in a free weekend, featuring 6v6 multiplayer arenas on new maps.

This is actually the largest assortment of maps ever featured in a free weekend this type. There are five 6v6 multiplayer arenas that include the new Zhokov Scrapyard, last season’s Hardhat, Shipment, Rust and Shoot House.

Here's how to get online and play for Modern Warfare free

This free multiplayer access is available to those who have downloaded Warzone, Call of Duty's free-to-play battle royale mode where 150 players compete to be the last one / team standing.

The download for Warzone is outrageously large, clocking in at an absurd 100GB on PS4 consoles. So you might want to tell your friends to download it right away.

If you don't have it, simply make sure you have enough space on your Xbox, PS4 and PC and download it free of charge.

You'll only have access to a few maps and game modes as it, unfortunately, isn't the full CoD multiplayer experience.

Once you boot up Warzone, you'll be able to access the Call of Duty Multiplayer lobby and start queueing for some matches.

What are you waiting for? Grab your friends and go win some rounds.
