Final Fantasy VII fans can now buy their favourite characters as polygon figures

Own some beautiful figures of the original Final Fantasy VII cast, in all their poly glory
Cloud, Aerith and Barret as they were from the original 1997 game

While the updates graphics of the Final Fantasy VII Remake sure made the beloved characters look absolutely gorgeous, you can't beat the charm of the original.

This brand new line of figurines is entirely rooted in the origins of the 1997 game, lovingly recreating the designs of legendary artist Tetsuya Nomura.

These stunning poly figures are available for pre-order on Square Enix's website for £55.99.

This box includes eight tiny boxes with one figurine in each, all styled in the same character model from the game.

The product description calls this a blind box, which means you don't know which figurines you will get when you purchase the box.

"Each character is recreated in their whimsical polygon form", the description says, "Each of the 8 blind boxes in the set contains one of 8 different designs, with a chance it could be the special ''Chaser'' figure."

You're not guaranteed to get the full set of figures as each individual figure comes in a blind box, so there might well be doubles of the same figure, which seems like a weird way to do it.

The characters available are:

  • Cloud
  • Barrett
  • Tifa
  • Aerith
  • Reno
  • Sephiroth
  • Red 13

You also have a chance to obtain a rare Chaser figure in this collection, which might be in one of the eight boxes you'll get.

It is important to note that you don't know which characters you'll get.

So you're spending £55.99 on what is essentially a real-life loot box, which is giving you the 'chance' to win all of these figures in one purchase, but this might be very unlikely and doubles of figurines is highly probable.

But to be fair, the figures do look beautiful and while you might not get your favourite there's no clear 'bad' one to get in this lucky dip.

The figures are available for pre-order now from Square's official shop and will be released August 31.
