Pokémon GO's Abra Community day was supposed to take place in March, but was sadly postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak.

However, Niantic has finally announced that it has made some temporary changes to Community Day to make it easier for people to play anywhere.

Rescheduled to April 25, Community Day will still feature Abra, the Psi Pokémon. The event will take place on the Saturday, from 11 am to 5 pm BST.

On this special day, there will be a number of things happening within the Pokémon GO app.

Abra will be appearing more frequently in the wild and if you’re really lucky, you may even encounter a Shiny Abra. The best part? It could even appear inside your house.

If you evolve Abra during the event, you can obtain an Alakazam that knows an exclusive attack - the Fighting-type Fast Attack Counter.

There will be an exclusive Special Research Story available for £1. Completing it will yield 13,000 Stardust a Poffin, a Rocket Radar, and other rewards.

The tickets for the special Research Story will go live closer to the start of the event.

As the coronavirus continues to limit everyone's time outside, Pokémon GO is constantly adapting so that the game can be enjoyed in individual settings, promoting stay-at-home gameplay.

Here is a list of all the updates during the event:

  • Community Day will now run for six hours instead of the regular three
  • There will also be a new bonus which will now be 3× Catch Stardust. This will be the perfect time to collect Stardust and power up your Pokémon for the GO Battle League
  • Instead of Lure Modules, Incense will last for three hours for the duration of the event.
  • Buddy Pokémon with a Buddy Level of Great Buddy or higher will bring you helpful items, such as Poké Balls, throughout the event.
  • There’ll be a special one-time purchase April Community Day bundle, featuring an Elite Charged TM, 30 Ultra Balls, three Super Incubators, and three Incense for 1,280 PokéCoins.

Further to this, Pokémon GO will also be adding Remote Raid Pass and PokéStop spins for players stuck at home.

These passes allow players to take place in any Raids happening nearby without having to travel to them.
