The festival spotlight has taken a southern turn.

Last summer east London’s Victoria Park was the epicentre for all things music-related but this year there’s been a migration south of the river to Brixton. Brockwell Park is the new centre of the action, and it all kicks off this weekend.

Today the all-new Field Day festival lands in its new Lambeth home after 11 years in Tower Hamlets, and Mighty Hoopla is following with a one-day takeover on Sunday after its east London debut last year. If you don’t want the party to stop, these are the places to go once the main stage falls silent.

Tonight, head to Peckham for a knees-up. Ghost Notes (ghostnotes.uk) is hosting the official Field Day after-party with London DJ and daughter of Trevor Nelson, Shy One, until 3am at Peckham Levels. Next door, record label Wah Wah 45s has enlisted a full DJ line up at the Bussey Building until 5am (clfartcafe.org).

Tomorrow night, festival fever infects Brixton: the official Field Day after-party is at Electric Brixton, just a 15-minute stumble from Brockwell Park (electricbrixton.uk.com). There’ll be DJ sets from electric duo Mount Kimbie, Daphni and London house DJ Lemmy Ashton.

Just up the road, Brixton Jamm is hosting an unofficial Field Day after-party with its Day & Night Tropical Summer Disco: a 13-hour fiesta on an outdoor terrace. It runs until 5am — just enough time to get a few hours kip before Mighty Hoopla kicks off at midday.

Get your glitter on early: for those out east, there’s a Vengabus to Sunday’s festival from Dalston Superstore at 12.45pm (dalstonsuperstore.com). Ticket buyers get a 2017 Mighty Hoopla T-shirt, Hoolpa lei and a “My Name Is… Uncle John From Jamaica” sticker, and there’s a Vengabrunch beforehand at 11am if you fancy starting the day with a couple of Up & Down Bloody Marys. Naturally, the bus will get you down to SE24 in good time to catch the Vengaboys on stage — on-board music included.

If you fancy a second night at Electric Brixton there’ll be an after-party from 10pm until 4am (it is a Sunday, after all) presented by Mel C with DJ sets from the former Spice Girl herself, as well as Gok Wan, Goldierocks and Gay Garage.

A rival party takes place at the Prince of Peckham hosted by VICE’s music channel Noisey and Old Blue Last Beer with DJ sets until 4am (princeofpeckham.co.uk).
