They haven’t given her a Bond theme yet, so Rihanna has to be content with singing the theme song to the new Star Trek Beyond movie. Sledgehammer is a Bond-like monster ballad, streaming on Spotify now.

Grime figurehead Skepta sent his Konnichiwa album to number two in May and is already back with new music. Coming Soon, streaming on Soundcloud, features ILoveMakonnen and Ceon and the kind of child-friendly backdrop that will make you want to run out and find an ice cream van.

Croaky Australian blues musician CW Stoneking sounds as if he’s arrived in a time machine from the 1940s. In fact his album Gon’ Boogaloo has just arrived on these shores from 2014, when it was originally released. The whole thing is already streaming online.

Having released an album called BLACKsummers’night in 2009, neo-soul pioneer Maxwell is now confusingly releasing a follow-up called blackSUMMERS’night. It’s out today, if search engines will permit you to find it, including the smooth ballad Hostage.

Brisbane’s retro soul singer Grace had a gold-selling hit in the UK with You Don’t Own Me. Now a debut album, FMA, featuring polished numbers such as Hope You Understand, is out today.
