Iron & Wine have been announced as the first headliners of brand new UK music festival Black Deer.

The folk group, led by singer Sam Beam, will top the bill at the new event, which promises to be a celebration of Americana and country music.

Black Deer will take place for the first time at Eridge Park, just outside of Tunbridge Wells in Kent, and welcome a range of renowned and upcoming acts between June 22-24.

Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased here.

Folk singer-songwriter Passenger will also headline the festival, while Grammy Award-winning musician Jason Isbell will also be playing the festival with his band the 400 Unit.

Ward Thomas, John Moreland, Eric Bibb and The Americans are also amongst the first acts announced for the festival.

As well as the music, Black Deer will welcome a host of craft food and drink stalls, bringing a taste of America to the UK.

“Having been in the music industry for many years, producing events for other people, I am proud to finally take a giant step to having a festival of my own," said promoter Gill Tee.

"Set in a beautiful part of the world, that I know and love, with a genre of music that holds so many memories for me, is really exciting as well as extremely challenging."
