Secret Cinema announces first gig experience

Laura Marling will premiere her new album at a series of clandestine events

Not content with inventing and dominating the phenomenon of live cinema with its immersive shows that bring iconic movies to life by recreating fantasy worlds for audiences to explore before the screening, Secret Cinema is planning to do the same for live music.

For eight nights in June, folky singer-songwriter Laura Marling will perform in a secret east London location. The entire building will become a living installation based on Marling's forthcoming album Once I Was an Eagle. Audiences will be encouraged to join in and become part of the performance.

This sonic adventure is the beginning of the Secret Music concept which the pioneering organisation will launch fully at the end of 2013. Tickets go on sale at 1pm on Thursday May 23.
