Say Something Loving hitmakers The xx are launching a series of goings-on to support their run sold-out gigs at the Brixton Academy in March.
Tickets for the gigs sold out on the day of the release, but the Night + Day series offers fans the chance to capture a little of the fun. Jamie xx is set to host an all day party on March 12, where he’ll be djing for from 2pm until 8pm at the Brixton Academy in aid of charity.
Speaking exclusively to Time Out, he said: “It was originally our day off but we had the venue hired already so now it’s gonna be a daytime party for charity. It’ll be fun. When you DJ for that long it becomes quite meditative!”
Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday February 15 at jamiexx.com.
There’ll also be four afterparties:
March 8: Trouble Vision at Corsica Studios Thursday
March 9: Deviation at The Prince of Wales, where Sampha will DJ Saturday
March 11: Robyn & Mr Tophat will DJ at Phonox Tuesday
March 14: Brother May, Coby Sey, and Mica Levi present Curl at Block 336
Elsewhere, at The Whirled Cinema, there will be screenings of films chosen by the band, and throughout the gigs a pop-up will offer chances to pick up exclusive band merchandise made by local youth enterprizes.
