Like Eliza Doolittle and AlunaGeorge, Nottingham-formed trio London Grammar appear on Disclosure’s No1 album, Settle. Singer Hannah Reid’s powerful pipes feature on the album’s lone slowie, the blissful Help Me Lose My Mind. Their own material is even more languid, drifting along minimally in a way that has earned frequent comparisons with The xx.

London Grammar were invited to play at The xx’s recent all-day event at Hatfield House, though they say their debut album, due later this year, is more influenced by Jeff Buckley, The National and Burial. Their next single, Strong, is a stunning ballad that shows admirable restraint when they could have piled on the strings. As autumn arrives, expect demand for their contemplative fare to increase exponentially.
