An orchestra is putting on a special concert to raise money for victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

The One Tree Hill Sinfonia, led by conductor Adrián Varela, who is also a violinist with the London-based Philharmonia Orchestra, will perform Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No 1, Titan.

It is described as “an epic work on tragedy, struggle and the quest for victory”.

Proceeds will go to Justice4Grenfell, the organisation fighting for Grenfell victims and families. The orchestra, co-founded by Mr Varela and violinist Andrea Broughton, has also launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise more funds.

Mr Varela said: “One year on from the man-made Grenfell Tower disaster, families of victims are still suffering."

"With cuts to the legal aid budget and court fee hikes, many of them have been left vulnerable in their search for justice. With this concert we support the efforts of Justice4Grenfell.”

The concert is in St Bartholomew’s Church, Sydenham, at 6pm on June 17.
