Gala Gordon, 27, runs in dizzying circles.
The breakout Argentinian-British actor is currently starring in and co-producing the triumphant drama Blueberry Toast at Soho Theatre, following acclaimed roles in ITV’s Endeavour, Netflix’s The Crown, and with pal Cara Delevingne in the film Kids In Love. This is how she circumnavigates.
Invention you should win a prize for?
My snack game is quite decadent. I make a cookie sandwich with peanut butter and banana in the middle.
Who’s your hero?
I fangirl over Mark Rylance, who wrote to me personally after I auditioned for him once — you never forget that. It keeps you going. Denise Gough has been hugely supportive too. She taught me to imagine physically derobing yourself of a character after a show — that’s an important lesson for this play, where I end up covered in blood.
City hideout you’d like to buy?
The Natural History Museum. I’ve always wanted to have a sleepover there and cause havoc. I guess that’s why I’m an actor — I’m an absolute child.
A thing you’d like named after you?
A chocolate bar. Milk chocolate, popping candy and caramel, please.
Album you play on repeat?
Prince’s Purple Rain. I saw him at Shepherd’s Bush Empire and he played for four hours. We turned the lights down and got funky.
Instagram account you can’t stop stalking?
The Fat Jewish, or any account with animal videos. Orangutans reuniting after years — bliss.
Something you couldn’t live without?
I curate Spotify playlists for every role I play. Blueberry Toast is an emotional whirlwind so I have a lot of disco and funk to pull me out of the deep trauma afterwards.
