Four new arrivals are set to join Big Brother as ‘second chance’ contestants after initially being rejected either by viewers or the existing housemates.

Thursday’s show will see new contestants Sam Chaloner, Sue Evans, Simone Reed and Andrew Cruickshanks enter the house as part of a surprise twist.

Presenter Rylan Clark-Neal announced the twist during an episode of Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, revealing:

“Tomorrow night, one housemate will be leaving the show but whilst Big Brother may taketh with one hand, he may giveth with the other.”

“We have not one, not two, not three, but four brand new housemates entering the Big Brother house. When I say brand new housemates, their faces might be a bit familiar,” he said.

Second chance: Sam will be joining the Big Brother house (Channel 5)

“A hurricane is coming, ladies and gentlemen. They might have missed out the first time but tomorrow night, Sam, Simone, Andrew and hurricane Sue will be entering the Big Brother house as Second Chance housemates.”

BB fans will recognise new arrival Sam from the Blind Date-style task where he missed out on the chance to become a fully-fledged contestant after Savannah and Isabelle were chosen to join the show instead.

New arrival: Simone will get another chance in the Big Brother house (Channel 5)

We met Sue Evans, Simone Reed and Andrew Cruickshanks on launch night, but the trio lost out to Tom in the election to become ‘people’s housemate’.

Friday’s show will see one contestant evicted, all current housemates have been put up for elimination as a punishment for their behaviour during a violent confrontation last week.

Isabelle, Chanelle, Joe, Savannah, Kieran, Tom, Deborah, Ellie, Hannah, Raph and Charlotte face the public vote, while the new additions are immune.

Big Brother continues tonight at 10pm on Channel 5.
