Big Brother’s Arthur Fulford has spoken out on his departure from the show, revealing that he felt “isolated” and “bullied” by the other housemates.

The contestant explained that he realised he was “winding people [in the house] up”, but felt he was treated as an “inferior” and was concerned about how he was “being perceived from the outside”.

Speaking to former Big Brother star Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, he said he “didn’t want to allow himself to become a victim” in the house.

“I knew what I was doing the whole time, winding people up, but it didn’t come from a place of malice”, he said.

“Every year Big Brother has a ‘cool group’ consisting of the young, good looking models. They treat the rest of us as their inferiors and that infuriated me!”

The news comes a day after fans were left looking for answers when Big Brother didn’t give any explanation for his departure from the show.

Arthur walked on Sunday after feuding with several housemates. Viewers had previously criticised Big Brother for allowing him to be ‘bullied’ and ‘ostracised’ by the group.

Monday’s show saw the remaining housemates receive news of Arthur’s decision.

Big Brother told the contestants: “After a confidential, off camera conversation, Arthur will not be returning to the house.” Raph Korine was then asked to pack Arthur’s bags.

The housemates were shocked, with Suhkvinder Javeed shouting “Arthur you d***, you should have stayed.”

As he packed Arthur’s suitcase, Raph struggled to hide his sadness saying “I’m so sorry mate”.

Big Brother continues at 9pm on Channel 5.
