I'm A Celebrity fans back Declan Donnelly as he throws major shade at Simon Cowell after Fleur East comment

Donnelly gave East some motivation to whack the pinatas in front of her

Declan Donnelly left I'm A Celebrity fans in hysterics after he appeared to make a sly dig at Simon Cowell.

Cowell took a swipe at contestant Fleur East, who was a runner up on The X Factor in 2014, as he addressed his finalist Scarlett Lee and told her he “didn’t want to see her in the jungle drinking worm juice”.

Donnelly made sure to level the playing field with a cheeky clapback at the music mogul during East's Gore Seasons Pizza Bushtucker Trial which saw the singer hitting a piñata to release the all-important stars.

As she took on the final one, shaped like a wedge of cheese, Donnelly urged her to keep going and “picture Simon Cowell’s face” as she whacked it.

The comment didn't go unnoticed by fans with one tweeting: “Tbh I'm here for @antanddec Dec telling Fleur to picture the Piñata as Simon Cowell's face cos same #imaceleb.”

Another said: “'Picture Simon Cowells face' Dec throwing the shade #imaceleb.”

A third wrote: “Simon makes a dig at Fleur... Dec makes a dig at Simon... I LOVE THE SHADE #imaceleb.”

East managed to rescue all 10 stars from the confines of the piñatas, securing all the food possible for her campmates.

The Hollyoaks star followed Noel Edmonds out of the camp - but their exits sparked 'fix' accusations from viewers who claimed they were the only contestants wearing rucksacks on their eviction nights.

A spokesperson for the show denied the claims in a statement: “This is categorically not true. All celebrities find out who is leaving the jungle when Holly and Dec announce this on the show.”
