Jeremy Clarkson appears to dismiss reports The Grand Tour has been axed

Jeremy Clarkson has appeared to dismiss claims that The Grand Tour has been axed after just three series.

Clarkson has hosted the Amazon Prime series, alongside his former Top Gear colleagues Richard Hammond and James May, since 2016.

However the Mail on Sunday reported that, with filming on the third series nearing completion, the show would not be returning for a fourth installment.

A source close to the show told the paper: “There is nothing to suggest they are going to do another one.

“No one has signed anything and employees are wondering where everyone will go once filming wraps.”

However Clarkson, 57, has appeared to dismiss this, warning followers on Twitter not to “believe” the claims.

The Grand Tour producer Andy Wilman – another former Top Gear man – told the Mail: “We are focusing on series three at the moment.”

Clarkson, Hammond and May signed a multi-million pound deal to move to Amazon and front the Grand Tour, which is one of the subscription service's biggest shows.

It was announced earlier this week that Clarkson, who was sacked from Top Gear for attacking a producer, will host new episodes of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire when it returns to screens later this year.
