Love Island 2018: Alex George and Rosie Williams feel very differently about their date while alarm bells ring for Kendall Rae-Knight

What does this all mean for the looming recoupling?

Love Island star Alex George had something to grin about after his date with Rosie Williams - but is it love? Probably not.

At the end of Wednesday night’s episode, Alex discovered viewers had voted him to go on a date with new arrival Rosie, a solicitor, and on Thursday we finally got to see how it went down.

Alex and Rosie, bonding over their high profile jobs, seemed to get on extremely well - with the 26-year-old admitting that she has “high hopes” for him - although it appeared Rosie wasn't all that taken romantically.

Alex told the Beach Hut that he was feeling “more positive” since his first date, having suffered multiple knock backs in the villa so far, and that they had a “connection”.

The A&E medic told the other guys: “She’s a nice girl, it was a really good date, we had a really nice setting, she’s Welsh, she’s a clever girl so we had a lot in common…

“Chatting to her, I think her type isn’t always the right decision… Let’s see, it was a good first date.”

However, Rosie wasn't as in tune with the date as she first seemed as she later admitted to the girls that she didn't see it going beyond friends with Alex.

Meanwhile, Alex could have some competition in charming Rosie as personal trainer Adam confessed he could split from Kendall - after stealing her from Wes Nelson - to woo Rosie (who admitted to the girls she was attracted to him).

Kendall quizzed Adam on his thoughts about the new arrivals, with the Geordie admitting that “everything has changed” since they came in.

Speaking honestly, he told Kendall: “If I’m honest with you, alarm bells are ringing in my head now.

“I never normally push this hard to try and make the girl feel comfortable, ever… I’ve done nothing to make you think that I would pick someone else.”

Kendall replied: “I am just insecure. I think Rosie has come in, she’s really attractive, I know you two are going to get on.”

Elsewhere in the packed episode, the second challenge turned the female residents of the villa into superheroes for one night only as they took on a series of challenge to test their “girl power”.

Round one saw the girls attempt to crush three watermelons with their bums while round 2 saw Samira, Kendall, Rosie and Laura take it in turns to defend a ‘helpless hunk’ from an oncoming barrage of slime balls.

In the final round, the girls were shackled to a boy of their choice. Kendall managed to free Eyal Booker, and kiss him, fastest - leaving her victorious.

And the games didn’t stop there as the contestants settled down for a game of truth or dare later on, with Adam admitting her fancies Rosie and Jack Fincham admitting he would ditch Dani Dyer for Hayley.

Jack’s confession led to a heart-to-heart between him and the daughter of EastEnders hardman Danny Dyer, with Jack telling her that she hasn’t tried with their relationship. But they resolved to give it another go.

And Eyal admitted the 21-year-old flame Hayley that they just aren't compatible, which spells an end to any hopes they may have had of getting back on track.

Love Island continues Friday at 9pm on ITV2.
