Night of passion: Montana and Alex enjoyed an evening in the hideaway

Love Island has broken its own racy record for the 2017 series after three couples had sex on TV in the latest episode of the show.

Montana and new arrival Alex, Kem and Amber, and Chris and Olivia all got hot and heavy under the covers.

Previously in this year’s show, only two couples - Dom and Jess and Kem and Amber- had slept together in one evening, but following a week or so with few bedroom antics, the contestants stepped things up a notch.

After a twist saw the old islanders split up into separate villas for a few days to be joined by new arrivals, the two houses were brought back together in Sunday night’s show - and the contestants waited no time getting reacquainted.

It was a night of passion in the villa which saw several couples cosy up. First, despite both choosing to pick new partners in the recent recoupling, Amber and Kem confessed that a few days apart had only strengthened their bond, and they admitted their love for one another.

There must have been something in the air because later Marcel also dropped the L bomb in a conversation with his partner Gabby.

However, she revealed she’s not ready to say those all-important three words back to the ex-Blazin’ Squad member just yet.

Meanwhile Montana was sent on a date to the hideaway with her new beau, latecomer Alex. After a very flirty dinner the pair got close under the covers knocking over a bottle of wine in the process.

And they weren’t the only ones – as Jonny and Tyla slept on the sofa next to them, Kem and Amber also got intimate – no doubt making up for a rollercoaster week.

Back in the bedroom, Olivia and Chris who have been coupled up for the past few weeks also did the deed after a conversation earlier in the evening reaffirmed their affections for one-another.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
