Meghan Markle’s sister Samantha Markle could be moving into the Celebrity Big Brother house this summer.

Samantha hit the headlines earlier this year when she spoke out about her relationship with her royal sister and their dad Thomas on Good Morning Britain and Loose Women.

And now bookmakers have The Duchess of Sussex's sister at 5/4 to star on the famous Channel 5 series, which will reportedly have a “scandal” theme.

Betfair spokesperson Katie Baylis said: “CBB has really struggled in recent years in the face of competition from Love Island, but if they could snare Samantha Markle then you would guess the whole nation would be tuning in to get her thoughts on her royal sister.

“With that in mind Channel 5 will surely pay a pretty hefty price to get her and since she has already shown a love of appearing on British television to spill the beans on Meghan in the last year, we have it as 5/4 that she will be one of the housemates this summer.”

Celebrity Big Brother declined to comment when contacted.

An insider told The Sun: “Celebrity Big Brother execs plan on having a lot of fun when they select their housemates for this season’s show. The more scandalous, the better.

“They want their stars to be as outspoken as possible, with relevant controversy attached to their name. They really want to create a buzz.

“Kieran would be an amazing signing and now he has nothing to lose.”

Other names being bandied about include Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness, Georgia May Foote, Paul Cattermole, Barry and Paul Elliott aka the Chuckle Brothers, Brendan Cole, Bobby Norris and Sinitta.

Celebrity Big Brother is expected to return this summer on Channel 5.
