Piers Morgan screams in ‘utter agony’ as he experiences ‘childbirth’

The controversial presenter has apologised to women for questioning them on the pain of giving birth

Piers Morgan was left screaming and holding his stomach in “utter agony” as he was forced to experience the “absolute torture” of childbirth after refusing to accept how painful women claim it can be.

Morgan was hooked up to a child labour simulator, or TENS machine (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), live on Good Morning Britain by a “torturer” who upped the intensity throughout a five minute period before Morgan begged for it to stop.

It didn’t look good for the controversial presenter who shouted “woah, what level is that?” when the monitor was still on zero.

He was “already uncomfortable” on experiencing number 20 before grimacing and clutching his stomach in pain after the cast and crew shouted “higher” and had it whacked up to 50.

He told himself to “dig deep” as he snarled at the camera and struggled to stand up.

He started screaming in pain and sat down before the monitor hit 60, crying: “That’s enough!”

“That cannot be what childbirth is like,” he said. “Is that really what it’s like?”

His co-host Susanna Reid asked if he would like to apologise, to which he said his respect for women has “gone through the roof”.

“To the women of Great Britain I probably owe you a slight apology,” he said. “I am very glad that we don’t have to go through this. That was agony. If that’s what you honestly go through, my respect for women, in terms of childbirth, has gone through the roof.”

He continued: “That was painful. I’m never again going to make any jokes about childbirth. Honestly that was absolute torture. If every man did that for five minutes we would never ever say anything again. It was utter agony.”

Viewers were in hysterics over the “TV gold” moment which they claimed ‘made their morning’.

One called for “baby” Morgan to “stay on that machine for the rest of his broadcasting”.

Another tweeted: “Brilliant TV......can he wear it every day and have @Lord_Sugar at the controls.”

A third wrote: “The closest we have come to him not saying a word..hook him up permanently and give control so @susannareid100 for when he goes off on one.”

Good Morning Britain is on ITV, weekdays at 6am
