Simon Cowell has revealed that despite finding David Walliams "extremely annoying", he would never sack him from Britain’s Got Talent.

Discussing his fellow judges ahead of the show’s return on ITV’s Lorraine, the mogul said Walliams was "unsackable".

“I always say to him calm it down. But this year it’s 20 times worse. You can stop him,” he said.

“I think he’s always been unsackable. I do remember the first time I sat down with him, we had one of the worst meetings I’ve ever had.

“Then we had another conversation a year later and he said yes. He and the show are a perfect match.”

Cowell went on to reveal he’d like his four-year-old son Eric to take over his media empire, which includes entertainment company Syco, when he’s older.

“I think about [him taking over] all the time. 1million per cent,” he confessed.

“I’d love him to take over. Maybe [he’ll replace Walliams] sooner than we think.”
