Broadcaster Anita Rani has become the latest celebrity to leave the current series of Strictly Come Dancing 2015, narrowly missing out on a spot in the series final.

The semi-final round saw Rani and partner Gleb Savchenko face off against Katie Derham and Anton du Beke in the dance-off.

However, the judges ultimately picked Derham to go through, joining ex-The Wanted singer Jay McGuiness, Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote, and EastEnders’ Kellie Bright in next week’s final.

Speaking after being voted out, Rani said that her highlight of the series was dancing in Blackpool, and praised the experiences she had throughout the show.

“Who knew that I could do the things that I’ve done? I’ll never forget it, ever,” she said.

Understandably, she also said that “it’s a little disappointing being that close to the final.”

Rani’s dance partner Gleb praised her as “funny and hard-working”, and the duo swayed to Boyz II Men hit End of the Road as their final dance of the series.
