Tamara Ecclestone insists she is sensible with her fortune — revealing that she shops at Costco and always drives a hard bargain.

The daughter of Bernie Ecclestone, the ex-Formula One supremo, stars in a new ITV fly-on-the-wall series focusing on life at her £70 million mansion in Kensington Palace Gardens.

Ecclestone, 33, lives in the 57-room property with her husband Jay Rutland and their daughter Sophia, three, helped by a 50-strong team of staff.

She told the Standard: “My dad is the biggest lover of a deal, or a sale, in life, ever. Somehow it has been passed down by genetics.

“Yes, I like nice things, but if there is a way to save money or have a deal — my father will always say, ‘Look for the deal, ask for a discount, you will always get it, don’t just pay the first price’.

“I do go to Costco and if there is money to be saved, why wouldn’t you? It doesn’t matter how much you have, if you can pay less for something, then you should.”

Ecclestone, who runs children’s toiletries business Fifi & Friends and haircare brand Show Beauty, accepted that she will always have critics.

She said: “I know some people will be negative about it, but I’m not worried about that at all. So much is written about me and my life, and so much of it isn’t true or is twisted. I’m happy that with this series, the actual truth about me will come out.”

Referring to scenes that showed her still breastfeeding Sophia, she said: “I find people can be negative about everything in my life — even breastfeeding my daughter... I have really learned that there are people who aren’t very happy or positive and they will spin any scenario and make it negative.”
