Over the ten seasons of Friends, the six main characters spend plenty of time taking it easy in Central Perk – but which would you most like to hang out with yourself?
The nation’s favourite Friends character has now been revealed in a Comedy Central poll.
Conducted as part of the channel's FriendsFest – which saw themed repeats of classic episodes air on TV, and celebration events pop up across the UK – viewers were asked to vote for their best Friend online, and the results were very close.
Pivoting his way to the top of the leaderboard with 25.6 per cent of the vote was Ross Geller, edging ahead of Chandler Bing by just 0.2 per cent.
Joey Tribbiani came in third, confirming the boys as firm fan favourites.
The most popular of the girls was Phoebe Buffay (you’re singing Smelly Cat in your head now, aren’t you?), with Rachel Green and Monica Geller coming in fifth and sixth respectively.
Ross, played by David Schwimmer, features in several memorable comedy setpieces in the series, from his teeth whitening, spray-tanning, and leather trouser disasters, to his furious and entirely relatable sandwich rant.
His on-again, off-again relationship with Rachel also provided one of the most significant storylines through the show.
Comedy Central took FriendsFest to six cities across the summer, allowing avid viewers of the beloved series to enter replicated sets of Central Perk, Monica’s apartment, and more.
