This Morning has been accused of ‘scraping the barrel’ after a woman underwent a designer vagina procedure live on air.

Viewers complained of feeling ‘sick’ and being unable to eat their breakfasts as host Holly Willoughby interviewed volunteer Annie Wardle while she had a laser probe inserted into her private parts.

Willoughby asked why “brave” Ms Wardle had opted for the procedure, which costs £1,200, and questioned whether it was for aesthetic reasons.

“As I’ve got older I’ve noticed that skin in all areas of my body, the elasticity of it is not the same,” she said. “It’s more for prevention and maintenance – tightening up my pelvic floor as well.”

Ms Wardle later told Willoughby that her vagina now felt “firm and tight” after looking at the doctor’s handy work in a mirror.

But viewers failed to match her enthusiasm with many deeming the segment inappropriate for daytime TV.

One viewer tweeted: “@thismorning cheers for talking about vaginas. I feel sick.”

Another wrote: “Last time I'm watching #ThisMorning it's about ‘Samantha Sex Doll’ and now this, ‘Designer Vagina!’ Seriously! @thismorning Have a think pls.”

The procedure came moments after Willoughby and co-host Phillip Schofield were left in fits of laughter after she dropped an innuendo ahead of introducing the segment.

Schofield said, “Remember when you started here first of all,” to which Willoughby interjected: “Yes, and I said I don't think I'll ever get used to saying the word vagina on telly.”

Schofield asked: “How do you feel today?”

Unwittingly, Willoughby replied: “Yh fine just normal, just rolls off the tongue.”

The pair then struggled to contain the giggles as members of the crew burst out laughing.
