Now that the final Jeremy Clarkson episode of Top Gear has aired, all attention is on the new series which is set to bring major change to the BBC’s motoring show.

The latest rumour is that Jenson Button will be joining previously announced host Chris Evans as a co-presenter on the revamped series. The Daily Mail are reporting that the Formula 1 star is set to take on the TV role as he begins his retirement from racing.

A source claims that the “announcement is imminent”, though spokespeople for Button and the BBC have declined to comment on any speculation.

Jodie Kidd is also said to be in the running for a position on the show, which would correlate with Evans’ previous comments that he would “100%” be joined by a female co-host.

The show also held an open casting call for new talent to join the series, with applicants invited to submit a 30 second audition video. It is currently unknown if anybody from this process has ended up with a role in the new series.
