Evening Standard New Homes Awards 2007
Entry forms are available for the 2007 Evening Standard New Homes Awards, a leading event in the property calendar.
Developers big and small are invited to apply. There are prizes to be won for niche housing schemes as well as major regeneration projects. Judging is completely independent and decided by a panel of industry experts and Evening Standard readers with recent buying experience.
Awards are given in 10 categories that collectively recognise excellence across the housing spectrum - from first-time buyer flats to one-off luxury mansions. New-build properties and conversions qualify.
Housing Associations that build shared ownership schemes and affordable flats for key workers can also apply.
Homes are judged according to set criteria including design flair, eco-friendliness, innovation, quality of finish, location and use of space. Above all, winners have to demonstrate "value for money", so even lower-priced homes have a chance to shine and win one of the coveted trophies.
Chosen from each of the 10 category winners is the prestigious "Home of the Year', last year scooped by Berkeley Homes for The Wandsworth, a large Victorian-style terraced house with a 21st-century kick: flexible, open-plan living space and modcons such as a central vacuum system and underfloor heating.
The awards ceremony, a glittering gala luncheon, takes place at the Dorchester Hotel on 18 May 2007.
