Mayor of London Boris Johnson is inviting young people with a passion for music to an exclusive industry seminar at City Hall.

Access All Areas is a free event for anyone aged 16-25 and is being organised in association with Small Green Shoots, as part of the Mayor's Rhythm of London 2011.

The event, which is being held on Wednesday April 20 from 10am-2pm, puts the spotlight on young musical talent with the aim of helping budding artists, songwriters, producers and DJs, as well as anyone interested in the business side of music.

Special guests and live performances from artists such as Chipmunk, Sway and Roll Deep will all appear at the seminar which Boris Johnson described as a "fantastic chance to get the lowdown from insiders without the hype."

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to ask a panel questions about the industry and get advice from the experts.

Speakers representing a wide range of musical genres and different areas of the industry will share their experiences and provide valuable information about the many career routes and avenues into the music industry in the world's leading live music city.

The Mayor added: "With more live venues than any other city and 30,000 performances every year, London's music industry is vital to our economy and offers a huge range of exciting careers.

"Creating more opportunities for young people to get involved in music is Rhythm of London's main aim."
