A 20,000sq ft, adults-only fairground with prosecco-infused candy floss is coming to Canary Wharf next month.

Fairgame, which opens on October 4, will resurrect fairground favourites of yesteryear — from whac-a-mole to roll-a-ball derbies, and even a giant hook-a-duck game floating on the water outside — and house them all within a huge indoor space, with the addition of a 100m riverside terrace.

Revellers will each be given RFID wristbands, which connect to the games and allow players to keep track of each other’s scores, as they compete for the a prize of giant pink teddies.

The venue, which has an age limit of 18 and above, will serve cocktails from three fairground-themed bars, with drinks ranging from craft beers and small-batch artisanal spirits to boozy slushies.

Food will be served up by the likes of Burger and Beyond, Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana and Dos Mas Tacos. The Candy Stand, meanwhile, will stock the prosecco-flavoured candy floss alongside alcoholic sweets and toffee apples.

Richard Hilton, co-founder and CEO of Fairgame, said: “Fairgame is a totally immersive experience where guests can eat, drink and be a kid again.

“The fairground has been enjoyed for generations and now we’ve combined the games everyone loves with state-of-the-art technology in an unbelievable setting. Guests will have the ultimate feeling of nostalgia: a proper ‘those were the days’ moment – now back as an epic night out.”

The venue will be open six days a week, staying open until midnight on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, until 1am from Thursdays to Saturdays, and closing at 11pm on Sundays.

Tickets start at £13 per person, which includes 75 minutes of play time (enough to play each game twice). Food and drink packages available for pre-purchase, loaded onto gamers’ wristbands when they arrive.
