London's Culture Club

With London holding the title as the loneliest city in the UK (BBC survey, 2010), a new solution has launched to help newcomers meet new people and develop friendships in the capital.

The Culture Club is an online-to-offline membership club aimed at "hip + arty urban adventurers", offering them an easy way to connect with like-minded people. There's a choice of three different packages to choose from - Free, Bronze and Silver - which offer members invitations to pre-organised socials, ranging from museum trips, film screenings and parties to The Culture Club's own events, such as Meet and Mingle.

Bronze and Silver members also get discounts or free entry to socials, access to the online members forum or network, as well as invitations to "Select Events" - unique soirees put together in partnership with different organisations, exclusive to Culture Club members.

Founder Matilda Egere-Cooper said: "After doing a trial run of the club since last September, over 300 people were signed up to the free membership within 2 months and the offer has been extended till 31 July; so it seems Londoners are really keen to connect with new people but more importantly, enjoy the great arts and culture scene and nightlife that London has to offer."

The demographic of The Culture Club is multicultural, with a heavy emphasis on people who are new to London, such as international students, and expats.

With a mission to become one of the trendiest membership communities in London, The Culture Club's new website is live at cultureclublondon.co.uk, and is offering a special introductory membership price at cultureclublondon until May 31st, 2011.
