The famous German beer festival is coming to town, and there’s no limit to how much beer you can consume

Oktoberfest will come to London this autumn, as Bethnal Green prepares to dish up steins and sausages in homage to the famous German festival — and the beer will be bottomless.

Oktoberfest East — which will be held at Oval Space between September 28 and October 9 — comes a year after a similar sold-out London event had to be cancelled due to poor organisation, leaving hundreds of ticket holders out of pocket.

The upcoming event is completely unrelated to last year’s fiasco, and judging by how much demand there was for that one it already looks set to be popular.

It is being put on by a team comprising of Munich brewery Hacker-Pschorr and experiential pop-up pros The Art of Dining, while the Hackney Colliery Band will be serving up their unique musical mix of brass and beats.

There will be the option of partaking in a full Bavarian-inspired menu as well as a food market for those just wanting a snack, with warm pretzels, hearty salads and schnitzels all on the billing — served at large communal wooden tables against a backdrop of an Alpine forest.

Tickets start from £15 for entry only, but if you splash out on the top tier £75 package you’ll be able to enjoy bottomless beer throughout the evening. The premium ticket also includes reserved seating, table service and a three-course Bavarian feast from The Art of Dining.

A mid-range £45 ticket includes reserved seating and two steins of beer, but not bottomless quantities.

Oktoberfest East will be open to the public from 7pm until midnight on Fridays and in two sessions from midday to 5pm and 7pm to midnight on Saturdays throughout its run. On Wednesdays and Thursdays it will host corporate evenings.
