The V&A Museum gets imaginative

Façade: the intriguing Imagination Bar

Bombay Sapphire continues its imagination series at the V&A Museum.

The London dry gin makers are offering V&A Friday Late visitors a unique experience infused with imagination.

Bombay Sapphire will be unveiling the Imagination Bar and creative cocktail menu at the V&A Summer Camp Friday Lates, a series of evenings celebrating innovation and design.

The Imagination Bar has been designed to intrigue and inspire visitors of the V&A.

From a distance the bar appears Victorian in style with wood features and etched mirrors, however, all is not as it seems. As guests draw closer they will see that the front of the bar is actually a trick of light and the panels start to deconstruct. From this unexpected façade, expert mixologists will create imaginative summer cocktails for guests to explore.

The V&A Summer Camp will be held on the last Friday of July, August and September and offers the chance for Museum visitors to learn new skills, take part in master classes, workshops, games and talks for free.

The V&A will collaborate with top UK design talents to present activities exploring three different themes; Idea (which took place on 29 July), Design (26 & 27 August) and Make (30 September).

Highlights from the Summer Camp season include a series of lectures by designers Alex Rich and Jurg Lehni who will be accompanied by robots drawing the objects they discuss and visitors can design and make their own chair in a workshop with furniture designer Jerszy Seymour.
