WIRED WOMEN OF WHITECHAPEL

Electric landlady Piney Gir hosts a special edition of her monthly night, which shines a light on females making strange noises with theremins, samplers and Moogs, preferably while doing some knitting.

Ms Gir headlines alongside Anat Ben David of Chicks on Speed, there's a VJ set from the Pixelettes, an installation from painter Nerys Davies, DJs and a synth workshop.

Whitechapel Gallery, 80-82 Whitechapel High Street, E1. Friday 7pm. www.myspace.com/wiredwomen

KASH POINT

Hilariously falling in the middle of London Fashion Week, this notorious party positively encourages sartorial sin: "Hoxton mullet, Chelsea Boots, Camden crusty, Soho fruits/Lame old lame, latex gloves, Biba boas left unloved" suggests the terrible poem on the flyer. Happily, they're better at DJ-ing (ultrasleazy electro) than they are at versifying, and the wild, creative vibe makes for good times.

The Eve Club, 3 New Burlington Street, W1. Friday 10pm-3.30am. www.kashpoint.com

PETE AND THE PIRATES

There is a definite piratical bent among today's young indie bands - Pete and his chums have just made the link explicit. Expect something suitably swashbuckling from the London quintet, who meld folkie hoedowns with psychedelic jugband jams.

The Spitz, Commercial Street, E1. Sunday 6pm. www.peteandthepirates

KILL 'EM ALL LET GOD SORT IT OUT

A worthy sentiment - and a great night, too. Resident DJs Simian Mobile Disco and the Filthy Dukes spin odd mash-ups and off-kilter party music, the Shakes and 586 play live, and there's a guest electro set from Skull Juice, whose blog (skulljuice.com) is well worth a peep.

Barfly, Chalk Farm Road, NW1. Saturday, 9.30pm. www.myspace.com/killemallletgodsortitout
