Richard I review: A handsome traditional pub in Greenwich

A Royal Hill pub on the fringes of Greenwich Park
Royal setting: The beer garden at Richard I in Greenwich

Royal Hill residents have really lucked-out when it comes to pubs…

The handsome Richard I is located right next door to the Greenwich Union. The pub had something of a facelift a few years ago, going from slightly-shabby old-school drinking haunt to a stylish take on the British boozer. The pub’s conservatory is a lovely space to unwind, and the outdoor terrace is a charming place for a summer drink. As well as being one of the best spots to enjoy a pint in the whole of Greenwich, you’ll find contemporary pub dishes on the menu too.

There’s no doubt about it: residents in this area of SE10 are spoilt for pub choices.
