Uncle Seymour’s at Zetter Townhouse

The bar is usually busy, and cocktails come in all varieties, all with the clean mix of a well-made drink

Named after ‘Wicked Uncle Seymour’ – which begs the questions: how bad was he? Should he really have a bar named after him? – almost everything in this bar works, though the decor of one half has a touch of the 70s pub about it, all miniatures and knick-knacks, although sadly no dart board.

The bar is usually busy, and cocktails come in all varieties, all with the clean mix of a well-made drink. Titan mixologist Tony Conigliaro put the list together, which offers cute twists on classics alongside lighter, fruiter options, all of which makes it ideal for a date. The Zetter feels like somewhere special: the cosy tables are mainly set out for couples and the low-lighting gives the illusion of intimacy, helped by the staff, who are attentive without being overbearing.
