Villiers Terrace leans towards a restaurant

Villiers Terrace: clearly styled with warmth and flair
10 April 2012

Some people have a glass half full mentality, while others subscribe to the glass half empty mantra.

It's a shame in a space such as Villiers Terrace, which has clearly been styled with warmth and flair, that wherever you stand on the glass debate it'll be containing something bland and generic, if draught beer is your preferred poison.

Hoegaarden does add something more interesting to proceedings, but at a price, and ale drinkers might want to look away now.

Fosters, Kronenbourg and Guinness shows a considerable lack of imagination for somewhere which has room for more than 20 cocktails on its menu.

Despite this, the dcor is classy, even if there is a definite leaning towards a restaurant feel.

We've yet to sample the fare, but the set lunch at 10 pounds looks good value.

Ladies who lunch rather than hardened drinkers are more likely to find something of interest here, though the decked garden adds another dimension when the sun has got his hat on and is coming out to play.
