World Cup 2018 in London: Pub offering a free pint every time Harry Kane scores

1/12

As England kick their way to glory in their restless pursuit of bringing football home, one pub has gone out of its way to recognise Harry Kane’s right foot.

Manor Park’s Golden Fleece pub is renaming itself the Golden Boot ahead of England’s match against Colombia and are promising free pints every time Kane scores.

When Kane smashes it over the line, punters who tell the bar “football’s coming home” will get a pint on the house – although the pub only has 50 to give away, so if Kane does what he did against Panama and scores another hat-trick, the place could be in trouble.

The pint itself is a limited edition ale brewed by former Swindon Town legend Chris Kamara and – in keeping with his reputation as football’s all round funnyman – is called Un-BEER-lievable. Unbelievable Jeff, indeed.

The Golden Boot’s manager, Claudia Barbu, said: “It’s great to see the nation coming together for the beautiful game.

“England’s star striker was born not far from here, so we really wanted to show our support to the team and to Harry by re-naming the pub and giving fans an extra reason to get off the sofa and soak up the atmosphere in the pub.”
