Sovereign tea

Smooth, sweet and soothing, like a rosebush in full bloom
30 April 2012

What: Sovereign tea (£8/tea caddy)

Where from: The Tea Box, 7 Paradise Road, Richmond, TW9, theteabox.co.uk

Taste assessment: This smells like a rosebush in full bloom – overwhelming at first and later reminiscent of someone’s country garden and so comforting. Overall it was smooth, sweet and soothing. I decided that this tea was best made with hot but not boiling water so as not to kill off the floral taste – but it also means you can drink it more quickly. If you can’t decide whether to buy the accompanying crown shaped Jubilee chocolates, do. Eaten together, the sugar fix will sort you out for the afternoon.
