Views don't come more picture postcard than at Butler's Wharf Chop House

When it comes to views, few restaurants have one quite so picture postcard as Butler’s Wharf Chop House. It may be the sister venue to “the First Dates restaurant” Paternoster Chop House, but Butler’s Wharf manages to boast an even better known location, with spectacular, close-as-you-like views of London Bridge from its terrace.

The Chop House resides in the former chocolate biscuit factory on the bank of the Thames, the interior turned from industrial space into an at once spacious and cosy dining room. Hearty, meaty fare is the name of the game at The Chop House – steak is its forte, serving 42 day aged Aberdeen Angus Cross from the grill, and sharing steaks for the daring, including a mammoth 1000gr of Porterhouse.

If you’re pondering over a date for your Butler’s Wharf visit, make it a Sunday. The roast at Butler’s Wharf Chop House isn’t just any roast. Sundays are for Red Roasts, complete with the option of bottomless red wine for £15 per person – think of it as a Bordeaux-lover’s boozy brunch. If wine isn’t your poison, then get your red another way with a build your own Bloody Mary option – choose your vodka (or gin or even tequila for the party people), your garnish and your spiced accompaniments – ranging from Worcestershire sauce to the worryingly titled “Mexican Tears”.
