At the heart of London Food Month will be a two-week night market bringing the capital’s top chefs and hottest street food stalls to Perks Field, Kensington from 7-18 June.

Here are eight particularly tasty treats that are in store…

1. Superlative street food

This is what it's all about. The Night Market’s selection of 50 traders will include street food favourites Mama’s Jerk, Patty & Bun, The Cheese Truck, Vinn Goute, Le Bao and Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen.

2. Class cocktails

There will be cocktails galore on offer at the Night Market, with the World Class Craft Bar offering competition-winning mixes, summer whiskey serves available from the Bulleit Bourbon Woody trailer, bloody Mary masterclasses and late night espresso martinis from the Ketel One Vodka Kitchen.

3. Michelin stars and more from Angela Hartnett

Angela Hartnett will be in residence throughout the Night Market, showcasing dishes from all her restaurants in rotation. This means you’ll be able to find pop-up street food versions of her four restaurants — Murano, Cafe Murano St James, Cafe Murano Covent Garden and Merchants Tavern. There will also be guest appearances from Murano’s former head pastry chef Sanjay Gour and current head chef Pip Lacey. Dishes will include salt cod fritters from Cafe Murano, roast quail aioli from Merchants Tavern, and rabbit tortellini and cannoli pistachio vanilla from Murano.

4. Meat, meat and more meat from Smokestak

David Carter will be bringing a slice of his Shoreditch barbecue restaurant Smokestak to market. He’ll bring a smoker on site and whip up brisket buns, 30-day dry-aged beef rib and thick-cut pork ribs.

5. Barbecue and oysters from Salt Yard

The always excellent Salt Yard Group will be bringing not one but four restaurants to the market — Salt Yard, Dehesa, Ember Yard and Opera Tavern. And they won’t be stopping at one style of food, either. There will be Spanish and Italian-style barbecue food along with oysters.

6. Films with your food

Forget popcorn — you can catch a film to go with the full foodie offering at the Night Market. The Westfield open-air cinema will screen films including The Grand Budapest Hotel, Cocktail, Back To The Future and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Cocktails: Bloody Marys from Ketel One

7. Personalised Peruvian from Martin Morales

Ceviche and Andina owner Martin Morales will be at the market, where he will not only serve ceviche and other Peruvian-inspired dishes from his restaurants well as demonstrating recipes from his latest cookbook.

8. Exclusive dishes

Night Market isn't just about feasting on your favourites, it's about trying the chance to try exclusive dishes never before served and, quite possibly, never to be served again. These include smoked pork neck from Angela Hartnett's Merchants Tavern and a brand new burger from Patty & Bun. See more of the exclusive dishes available here.
