This swish hotel appeals to City workers and Hoxtonites alike. The Bar & Grill is open from morning until the small hours, with brunch served until 4pm at weekends. You can make the delicious eggs Benedict (£6.50) part of the set menu if you like: £30 for two courses, plus unlimited drinks.

Damson & Co

A dinky little coffee shop and café (which paradoxically has a good wine list and a nice selection of gin, should its excellent caffeinated drinks not hit the spot) where you could happily spend the whole day — and plenty of creatives do. Start off with delicious eggs Benedict (from £5), and then move on to a slab of lovely cake.

A wonderfully decadent place for a weekend brunch — sit here and pretend you live locally. Eggs Benedict are served perfectly runny and sauced (from £6.75), or go all out and have a lobster thermidor omelette. Don’t miss out on a stack of buttermilk pancakes with bacon and maple syrup — a great start to a Sunday.
